Mitä hallituspestiini kuuluu?

Sosiaalipoliittisen vastaavan sektoriin kuuluu kaksi toisistaan erilaista ja laajaa kokonaisuutta: Edunvalvontajaoston puheenjohtaminen sekä tutorointi. 

Edunvalvontajaosto kokoustaa viikoittain, järjestää tapahtumia ja kampanjoita sekä puuttuu epäkohtiin koulumme opiskeluympäristössä ja opiskelijoiden kohtelussa. Sosiaalipoliittisen vastaavan johdolla Edunvalvontajaosto pitää huolta, että opiskelijoiden ääni kuuluu Turun kauppakorkeakoulun päätöksenteossa. Osana tätä vaikuttamistyötä sosiaalipoliittinen vastaava istuu opiskelijaedustajana toimikunnissa kauppakorkeakoulussa ja TYYssä. 

Edunvalvonnan lisäksi EVAn yksi suurimmista ja näkyvimmistä projekteista on mielenterveyteen ja jaksamiseen keskittyvä Terve Mieli -hanke. Tulevana vuonna sosiaalipoliittisen vastaavan ja EVAn apua on Terve Mieli -työryhmä, jonka tarkoituksena on kehittää Terve Mieli hanketta ja luoda strategia hankkeelle. Sopon työtä tämä toivottavasti vähentää, sillä työryhmä on mandaattipaikoilla toimiva ja sitä puheenjohtaa edeltävä sopo. Kuitenkin työtä on tarkoitus jatkaa myös vuonna 2027, jolloin sitten vuoden 2026 sopo toimii työryhmän vetäjänä. Terve Mieli -hankkeen operatiiviset toiminnat, kuten tapahtumien järjestäminen, ovat jatkossakin EVAn vastuulla.

Sosiaalipoliittinen vastaava hoitaa yhdessä TSE:n opintotoimiston edustajan kanssa tutorhaun ja tutorvalintojen tekemisen sekä on mukana perehdytysviikon suunnittelussa. Turun KY:n tutortiimin kanssa sopo järjestää tutorkoulutukset TuKYn puolesta, perehdyttää tutoroinnin vastuutiimit, organisoi perehdytysviikon kokonaisuuden ja varmistaa puputapahtumien onnistuneen toteutuksen. Lisäksi sopon vastuulla on myös KTM-tutorointi ja sen kehittäminen, joten pestissä on jatkuvasti monta rautaa tulessa. Tutortiimissä apuna on Turun KY:n kv-vastaava, joten yksin ei hommia joudu hoitamaan.

Sosiaalipoliittisen vastaavan onkin siis hyvä olla kekseliäs, kokeilunhaluinen ja vaikuttamisesta kiinnostunut sekä valmiina pitämään opiskelijoiden puolia päätöksenteossa.

Sektorikohtaiset:

1. Tutortiimi on toiminut sopon tukena nyt viimeiset kolme vuotta, mikä on vähentänyt merkittävästi tutoroinnin kuormittavuutta. Tutortoiminta on kuitenkin laajentunut (esimerkiksi 2025 alkanut KV-KTK -linja), miten lähtisit kehittämään tutorointia, jotta kaikilla pupuilla olisi samanlainen mahdollisuus tutustua ja osallistua TuKYn toimintaan?
2. EVAn toiminnan keskiössä on vahva edunvalvonta. Viimeisen parin vuoden aikana EVAa on haluttu tuoda näkyvämmäksi kuntalaisille esimerkiksi uusien tapahtumakonseptien myötä. Miten jatkaisit EVAn kehittämistä tapahtumanjärjestäjänä? Miten tasapainottaisit EVAn roolia edunvalvonnan ja tapahtumien järjestämisen välillä? 
3. Terve Mieli-hankkeen strategiaa aletaan kehittämään työryhmän avulla vuonna 2026. Miten sinä näet hankkeen tulevaisuuden ja miten sitä mielestäsi voisi kehittää?
4. Sopon tehtäviä ovat tutoroinnin hoitaminen, EVAn puheenjohtaminen sekä Terve Mieli -hankkeen kehittäminen. Tehtävää on siis paljon, mitä priorisoisit itse sopona? Miksi?

Head of Social Affairs 

What does my board position include?

The social affairs sector can be divided into two main operational tasks:  being the chair of the Committee for Social and Educational affairs (EVA) and organizing tutoring on. EVA meets weekly and organises events and campaigns, and also intervenes in issues of our study environment, courses and treatment of students. As the chair of EVA the Head of Social Affairs (SOPO) ensures that our students are heard in the decision making of Turku School of Economics (TSE). SOPO is responsible for the advocacy work in all matters regarding social affairs and for that is the student representative in several committees at TSE and The Student Union of the University of Turku.

In addition to advocacy work, one of EVA’s largest and most visible projects is the Terve Mieli-project (eng. Healthy Mind), which focuses on student’s mental health and coping. In the coming year there will be a Terve Mieli -work group that will help SOPO and EVA with the project. The Terve Mieli -work group has the aim to develop the project and plan a strategy for the future of the project. This will hopefully reduce the workload of SOPO as the working group will operate with mandated positions and the preceding SOPO is the chair of the group. However, the work of the group will most likely extend into 2027 when the chair of the group would be the SOPO of 2026. The operative functions of Terve Mieli -project, such as organising events, will continue to be the responsibility of EVA.

Together with a representative from TSE’s Office for Academic and Student Affairs, SOPO handles the application process and selection of tutors and is involved in the planning of the orientation week. With the Tutorteam of Turun KY, SOPO organizes training sessions for tutor on behalf of TuKY, onboarding of Tutor responsibility teams, and organizes the orientation week as a whole and ensures that the bunny events are successful. In addition, SOPO is responsible for the Finnish master degree student’s tutoring and its development, so the SOPO has many hats to wear. The Head of International Affairs of TuKY is also part of the tutor team, so there is no need to handle the work load alone.

The Head of Social Affairs would benefit from being inventive, experimental and interested in advocacy work and ready to stand on the students’ side in decision-making of TSE.

1. The Tutorteam has been supporting SOPO for the past three years, which has significantly reduced the burden of tutoring. However, tutoring has expanded (for example the International Bachelors degree programme), how would you go about developing tutoring so that all bunnies would have the same opportunities to get to know TuKY and participate in its activities?
2. Strong advocacy work is the core of EVA’s operations. Over the past years, there has been efforts made to make EVA more visible for student, for example through new event concepts. How would you continue to develop EVA as an event organizer? How would you balance the role of EVA between advocacy and organizing events?
3. A strategy for the Terve Mieli -project will be developed with the help of a working group in 2026. How do you see the future of the project and how do you think it could be developed further?
4. SOPO’s duties include tutoring, chairing EVA and developing the Terve Mieli -project. There is a lot to be done, what would you prioritize as a SOPO yourself? Why is that?
