TSE-Mentor
The TSE-Mentor programme is a free-of-charge programme for students of the Turku School of Economics, hosted by Turun KY, Turun Seudun Ekonomit and the Turku School of Economics, starting in January 2025 and running until the end of the year. The programme is meant for all students of the Turku School of Economics and members of Turun KY
Students will receive personal mentoring, where a mentor will support the student, especially in times of increased performance pressure, career planning and well-being. Meetings are confidential and can also be conducted remotely if necessary. There will be between four and six sessions during 2025 and the mentoring may also be discontinued at any time if the student so wishes.
The application period for the programme starts on 16th of January and will be open for two weeks. Students are invited to submit their information and to nominate three of their favourite mentors from among the experienced mentors and alumni accepted into the programme. The final selection will be made by the TSE-Mentor managing group, which includes Hannele Larkovuo from TSE ry, Markus Miilunpalo, TuKY’s Head of Educational Affairs and Anni Seppälä, TuKY’s Head of Social Affairs.
The launch meeting of the programme will take place on the 4th of February at the Turku School of Economics in the Lähitapiola Hall.

Sanna-Riikka Valtonen

Work history: 15 years of experience in leadership and management positions in a market retailing company. I went on to develop entrepreneurial business and now work for LähiTapiola as HRD Manager in the HR department.

Emmi Rankonen
Year of graduation and major: 2024/2025 graduating with Master’s in Human Resource Management (University of Vaasa), 2008 Master of Philosophy in Soil Geology (University of Turku)
Work history:I am a geologist by original education and I worked as a geologist at the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and the Geological research center of Finland (2006-2016). I started my career in human resource management in 2016. During my HR career, I have worked at Lyyt, Mavericks Software, JT Testing and Everon with a focus on HR management, recruitment and development of corporate culture, employee experience and employer image.

To apply for the mentoring programme, use the Google Forms form. The information you provide will be forwarded to the team responsible for matching students with mentors. The team will forward the information to the mentor. All information will be treated confidentially and will not be used for any other purpose.
